Huffman Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1972 to provide community education, fire prevention, and fire suppression services to Huffman and the surrounding areas. A single station located on FM 1960 housed a single apparatus that was staffed with only a few volunteers.
After 45+ years servicing Huffman and the surrounding areas, Huffman Fire Department has grown into a combination department with full-time, part-time, and volunteer staff that maintain 24/7 staffing. The department has 2 stations, with a third station being built to provide resources to the southern district of our response area.
Station 51 is centrally located at 24141 FM 2100 just north of the intersection of FM 1960 and FM 2100. Station 51 is home to an Engine, Medic, Tanker, and Brush Truck. It also serves as the district's administrative headquarters. Station 51 features 2 drive-thru bays, living quarters for 8 firefighters, the department's training room, as well as multiple training props. Station 51 is staffed by a combination of paid and volunteer staff.
Station 52 is located at 54 Ivy Leaf Dr, just east of FM 2100 on Huffman's North side. Built in 2010, station 52 houses an Engine, Tanker, Brush Truck, Utility, and a reserve ESD #4 Medic unit. The station features 2 drive-thru bays, enough space for Fire and EMS personnel, training props, as well as a breathing air cascade system.
